AIP is alternative Incarceration Program, it is a program at Powder river or Shutter Creek in North bend where you go through a 6 month program that knocks time off your sentence. I went to the one at shutter creek and it took roughly 30 months off my sentence, but i think it can only take off a certain percentage now. It is not like general population now, shutter creek was basically a koom-by-ya where people learn to talk about their crime and focus on their victims.if the judge said he was eligable for it he will sign a piece of paper at coffee creek saying he wants it, and it is fairly simple to get in. I got in right when I had 36 months left (like literally a couple days after) just depends when they take people, back then it was only once every two months but i think it is more now. If you have any questions feel free to ask!!

here is some info from doc

Default aip

my son is in the program at powder river. there are two groups. his group has 64 inmates...i think the other group is same size but can't guarantee it. that would be a total of 128. since it is a 6 month program, people are graduating all the time. there is no way to predict how long it will be, or even if someone will actually get in. my son was eligible in april, but didn't get in until july......

if drugs are the inmate's problem, it's a good program.

The most important thing we must remember when our loved ones enter any kind of treatment program is, they must want to be clean and sober. If they are willing to open up and learn about why they use, they will learn a lot from the program.

My fiance went through the program at PR and it is very intense, but he has since found out that 75% of the people he graduated with are doing their time day for day, because they did not comply with the rules and PR. It really depends on the person and how much they are willing to put into the program.

I wish your son the very best and hope that he succeeds at the program. It usually takes 6 months or more to complete to program, once they are accepted and go through all of the phases.

Peace~

also dont listen to people who say things about waitlists and hard to get into, i got into right when I had 36 months left, also when i graduated they had changed the rules so sex offenders couldnt join and people couldnt save 30 months like I did so a lot where denying going. I think it should be relatively easy to get in if you have time. The last thing is I went to shutter creek and had a manufacturing charge but also an assault charge, so drug charges dont guarantee where u go. Shutter creek was good though
