Should there be a label when people think you are together.

Two people have a relationship that would make outsiders feel they are ( officially together ) but in all reality are not, and their love for each other is mutual as far as taking things to the next step. Does anyone feel there SHOULD be a label and when a their man decides to take it further that he should literally tell you? Or is that high school and things should just flow naturally?
