Ensure is a great way. It doesnt have the best taste, but it's not the worst either.

What about trying some sort of muscle supplement from GnC? That might help.

I was told you can buy the weight gainer powdered stuff from the vitamin store or GNC. Eat alot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and drink that weight gainer and it shouldnt be a problem.Thats what the store guy at GNC told me when I asked for a friend.

Back when I was younger ( up until I hit 47) I was stick skinny, I started lifting weights and drinking lots of high calorie protein shakes to give my body some shape. I didnt really do cardio back then as I was way to skinny and didnt want to lose any size, the weights really helped me sculpt my body and not look like stick woman.

I will be 49 next month and finally around 47 my metabolism slowed down a bit and I still work out not to mention I am pretty healthy for a old chick

That's a good idea....the PB&J sandwich thing....also drink A LOT of whole Vitamin D milk....even add chocolate or strawberry quik to it. Ooohhhhh you could have so much fun trying to gain weight. Candy bars, cakes n pies......soda, chips, pizza, Mc Donald's. Oh the list goes on and on.

I'm hungry now

I wish I had your problem. As a girl with the opposite problem and can tell you that maybe it will help if you sit still. Lessen your activities so you burn less calories.

Eat more fat. More butter, mayo, Miracle Whip, fried foods, cakes, pies, cookies and ice cream. Full fat everything and diet soda because that stuff will make anyone hungry. Drink beer if you like it-yuck to me. The powder milk in ice cream does work but I would switch it up with protein powder because you want to gain muscle not just fat. Eat cheese and use white bread instead of wheat. Be come a condiment eater. Blue cheese dressing, ranch and thousand island on everything. If you can't gain weight eating like this then just relax and wait for age to kick in. Most people reach 40 and something just happens naturally.

good luck to you

Boost tastes better than Ensure.

Yeah, I did the Ensure thing before too. It works but it's pretty expensive.
One thing I learned was to put corn starch in all of the foods I ate. It just bulks it up.
The main way I got to be so thick though was by taking birth control pills. It's like magic. Two weeks of birth control pills (with hormones) will have you looking mighty bodacious.

I definitely don't recommend stuffing your face with cookies, cakes and McDonald's. You'll get sick eating that kind of stuff - your skin will go bad, your teeth, breath, hair, everything will be way worse off. There's a lot of non-processed foods that have a lot of fat, like avocados or fish or nuts. Or high calorie foods like whole grain pastas, cereals, rices, sweet fruits and starchy vegetables all help in weight gain. Eating McDonald's and processed snack cakes are not going to make you look good.

Oh and you don't have to just sit still either. You should still exercise. But do only a very bare minimum of cardio / aerobic workouts. Do more weight lifting and muscle training workouts. They will build your body instead of making it skinnier. Sitting still and doing nothing will only make you sick, not thick. ;-)
