Default Brother sent to prison..

Ok so my brother had a bit of a problem with heroin and pills and it got the best of him.. he stole from many stores and got arrested once for forgery, and for that now, he is being sent to prison for 5 years.. I think its crazy.. yes he stole many times.. and come to think of it, I don't think it would of even ended up to 1,000 with everything he's ever stole added up. It breaks my heart he has two kids, one he has not seen in 4 years and another that's only 2. He has been in and out of jail for the last two years.. I have two brothers, him being the oldest and a twin, although I'm more like my olders twin. (My twin is also in the same boat, but somehow is lucky and hasn't had any serious time like my older brother) I cant stand to think about it, I just had a baby 7 weeks ago (the first girl in 24 years) and he has yet to see her. He was in a jail that only had screen visitation and he didnt want to see her that way. He was waiting to be transfered back to his original jail were they had window visitation and I was going to take her then.. well within one night he was transfered to the original jail and Jackson prison... Im a mess over it.. I haven't seen my brother in 3 months..and now the thought that I won't see him for a long time.. but more is his kids won't... And he still has yet to see my daughter.. he had to send all his belongings home, it hurt so bad to open an envelope with all his pictures sent back... Ahhh... Just hate thinking about it... Jackson is rough place.. and my brother isn't a bad person be just had to feed his addiction. Just wish neither of my bros were like this.. I worry about him being in there, getting hurt or something.. hopley this will make an impact and he'll do differently.. just still hate he cant hold his little niece, he loves babies!!

It's impossible to be a heroin and pill addict and have the total dollar valve of what you stole during that time be only $1000 unless you were rich until the last couple days before you got busted
Don't feel too sad for him, us addicts have to hit ROCK BOTTOM before we attempt to climb back out of the holes we dig. Usually that's either death or prison and almost always the loss off all possessions, friends and family. What he really needs is friends and family to get involved in his recovery so he doesn't repeat as soon as he gets out. Start reading and gathering knowledge and information about narcotic addictions. Talk to other addicts that are involved in recovery and go to NA meetings to see what your brother is up against. Then start encouraging him to get help inside and to develop a plan to continue when he gets out. No plan and no work to stay with the plan means he will end up right back inside or worse. Goodluck

My sister was a crack addict and we tried repeatedly to get her help. She ended up in prison and I guess it was her rock bottom because she's been out three years and is still clean.

Well my brother was pretty set...he had many nice expensive things.. two f350 trucks that were sold and basically shot up in his arms.. sold then used to feed his addiction.. Im one who was called first when he was bailed out, I'm saying the stuff all together he got arrested for is less than 1000, I'm sure he's stole more, but for what he has got caught with and them give him prison? Seriously? I know what he is up against I myself am a recovering addict.. of meth.. I just don't understand how he can be the way he is... But who knows maybe this well be his rock bottom... I just think its ridiculous they sent him to prison..

My brother stole less than 200 dollars and he was not the main guy in the robbery but he got 20 yrs. his friend decided to rob some store and he just happen to be there. An hour later they were high so they decided to do it again. 2 hrs of mistake robbed my brother of 20 yrs of his youth. There is no fairness in that.
