OMGosh, my husband tried to call me, he got to his prison, finally and it said the call would not go through because there were NO FUNDS available, I THOUGHT i understood that we just put money on their books via western union, which i did and they have to transfer funds to call? But www.vconnect.com says its to receive calls from federal inmates.......(((((help)))))) where am i supposed to be putting money for my husband to call me.........

Myvconnect.com that's where mine calls... go on there set I an account. Super easy and cheap!

does the money NOT come from HIS account where HE transfers his funds?

vconnect is seperate....however a lot of the calls coming from money on their books jus is cheaper i THINK i can't remember it's been a long time since i used vconnect... and i dunno of the facility your guy is at can do it any other way...

but generaly yes if you put money on the books he shuld be able to switch money over to his i call it "fon account" for maken calls direct rather then goin thru vconnect. maybe he doesn't have fon account yet? or maybe he doesn't realize that's how to do it maybe sum1 said use vconnect...

I use Western Union all the time. He takes the money from his account and puts it on the phone. I don't know what v connect is, I just send through federal prison on western union.

V connect is new to me too. The only way to place calls during my entire bid was to either call collect or transfer money from the inmate account (you already put money in it by WU), to his phone account. Maybe V connect has something to do with privately owned prisons, but I never heard of it before today.

My LO uses the "in-house system", not a third party vendor. Phone calls are about $3.25-$3.79 per 15 minute phone call which I believe is much cheaper than a third party vendor. He transfers money from his comm. funds to his phone funds. I do not have a separate account with any other company (only when he was in County did I have to do that).

No need to use V-Connect if he's in a BOP facility.
