Need camp lejeune info/sentence guestimate...

Could anyone tell me if prisoners can send letters? Also...how long can a person be in the brig for at camp lejeune? I hate to even admit this but my husband was sent there for pulling a knife on another marine...not sure what the rank of the guy was but my husband is only a pfc, keeps getting bumped down from lcpl tho he's been in the corp for almost two years. He's been in the brig since the end of January and I'm wondering how long they could hold him/what the next step could be... Any info would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thank u in advance:-)
