Default Green dot cards and cell phones

How do these inmates have access to these things and how do they get cash money from the cards without getting in trouble?

Most all eventually get caught and get in trouble.

Easy answer... Both of those things are considered contraband. They get them the same way ALL contraband gets in. I'd advise him not even think about getting either one. Not worth it if he gets caught.

I'm afraid that the "how" cannot be answered- PTO's policies discourage posts that offer instructions about how to get around the policies of correctional facilities and,so, the only answer to that is really "because some people have more ingenuity than common sense." (I've often thought that a lot of folks would not be in prison if they'd used the remarkable problem solving skills they seem to possess *before* they did something foolish instead of thinking outside the box only after they're locked in one).

And it's just not worth it- most folks who play these silly games get caught sooner or later and the penalties, depending on where they are, range from extremely inconvenient to downright horrid.

Just be real careful...cell phones in prison are not allowed. A few weeks ago I got a call from a prisoner saying that I needed to go to Walmart and put $200 on a greendot cash card so his wife could get it to my son by the next morning. I was told if I didn't do this that my son would be put in the hole.......Well thank God I knew the only people who could put my son in the hole are the CO's and further more if he was in trouble, he would have to deal with it. He knows I'm not giving anyone money. Long story short he called me the next night and I told him the story. He was pissed...he said he wasn't in any trouble and that he works really hard to stay away of all the drama. His biggest worry was how whoever it was got our name and phone number. He was so angry he was shaking.

Moral of this story....don't put money on any of these green dot cards...they only way they can get it is through a cell phone...which is not only illegal, but totally traceable back to you, which also is a crime.
