Default Joe D'Ambrosio OH #140

On January 23, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal by the state of Ohio challenging the unconditional writ of habeas corpus and bar to the re-prosecution of Joe D'Ambrosio (pictured), thus ending the capital case. He has now been freed from death row with all charges dismissed.

The U.S. Supreme Court will not give prosecutors in Cleveland a chance to pursue another trial against a man who spent two decades on Ohio's death row before he was released nearly three years ago.

"I need everyone to be aware of how unjust and how wrong the death penalty is and how the system is flawed," Mr. D'Ambrosio, 50, said in a phone interview from North Olmsted, Ohio. "Ninety percent of my adult life was spent on death row. There has to be awareness."

And if this would be the ONLY case an innocent was sentenced to death, it would have been already one case too much...

That for I think it's the right and just thing to abolish the death penalty! NOW!!!
