General DR question

So I have been trying to find out on my own what exactly happens with death row, maybe you all can help me out :-/

How does one get put on death row? Why does it take years for them to be on death row to wait until execution? What are the "qualifications" for an inmate to be labeled death row as opposed to serving life?

There are many reasons and each one is different as each person and each set of circumstances are different. Generally, it takes a long time between sentencing and the carrying out of that sentence because cases are appealed and the court system is very slow. A death penalty conviction must meet certain criteria. Being found guilty of murder does not necessarily mean that you will be sentenced to death. To get the death penalty, the crime has to have contained certain elements. And the Prosecution has to ask for the death penalty for that penalty to be considered. And each state has their own rules for capital punishment so it is very hard to generalize.

I have been read about dr's condition,but didn't know how Appeal goes,oe like that.
So Now I'm learning.
I'm asking many things here,and my friend in polunsky,and one Texas's Death Penalty Lawyer(for me,Mr.David R Dow)'s book.and Court record.
