Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

My bf has been in prison since May of 2011. His sentence was 5 years but they opted for one year of drug treatment. He was sentenced June 2011 and did 2 months in county before going to diagnostics in Fulton Mo. Then he went to his treatment facility where he is at now in Sept last year... Since he has been there he obtained his GED, paid off all of his fines and completed their program. The last six months there they just do work release. In the past month they have started being ignorant, and doing and saying things to try to make him mad so he loses his program. Just last week a certain CO started calling him names and refering to him as a bisexual or just calling him a homo. They have threatened him several times and treat him like dirt just cause he is an inmate. What they dont realize is that I dont put up with alot of crap. I called jeff city doc and they just want a paper trail... As of this morning they said he can no longer talk to me and took away his phone privileges. I'm at a loss... What can I do? Please help!!!

I think part of the problem might be that the wrong person is not putting up with a lot of crap. He can take action on his behalf. You, perhaps, not so much. It sounds like he should contact his attorney (public defender if that's the case) and let him/her know what's going on. He has the right to call his lawyer even if he doesn't have phone privileges.
I realize you want to help him but please realize your actions can affect his situation negatively. Try to stay calm and don't lose your cool with anyone at the facility. Good luck.

He has left his paper trail... I spoke to the public defender they gave him at court but she said they closed his case and they no longer represent him... He has no lawyer now. I have been very respectful to people at the facility he is at. I think part of the problem is that he is n prison n the same county he grew up n and they all know him. His caseworker is very nasty to me bc she knows how we met and thinks its a bad thing... I think I may just sit back for now and watch as it all plays out....
