Please be aware that, due to difficulties arising from issues with Yahoo and AOL, we have changed our registration requirements.

Default Michael Anthony Archuleta UT 5 Apr 2012 Stayed
A judge on Wednesday signed a death warrant for Michael Anthony Archuleta, for now at least setting the course for his execution by firing squad on April 5.

Sending a card to him. I'm a friend of Kell's & Kell likes him so I've got to at least send some sympathy. Death penalty is barbaric.

He is asking for a stay:
"Attorneys for Michael Anthony Archuleta filed a notice of his intention to file a habeas corpus petition on Feb. 10 in Salt Lake City's U.S. District Court. Such requests consider whether a person's conviction and sentence are constitutional."

It's stayed.
In an expected move, Archuleta, 50, decided to pursue an appeal in federal court, prompting U.S. District Judge Tena Campbell to sign an order to stay an execution warrant for April 5 that had been signed in state court in February. The stay was issued last month.

UTAH - firing squad available to inmates who chose it prior to passage of legislation this year banning the practice.

So he must have chosen it before they banned it.
