Default He is home!

Well, my husband has been home for a week and a half now and things are going good. I took a week and 2 days off work to be with him and we didn't get to do any of the things I had planned for us to do but we were able to see his kids and be together and that is what matters. When he finally came out of those doors and we reached each other he dropped his bag and wrapped his arms around me and lifted me off the ground hugging and kissing me! It was the best feeling! We stopped at the rest area just out side of town for him to change and then a little ways down the road we stopped at Pizza Hut to eat. He was so cute because he was so nervous about going inside and was afraid everyone would know he just got out of prison. When we went to leave he got upset because I didn't leave a tip on the table and I explained to him that I was going to put it on my card because I didn't have cash. He didn't understand that at first because he was used to always using cash before. I fixed him a steak, baked potato and salad for his first dinner home and he loved it! The next morning we went to parole for him to report and his parole officer said they didn't have all of his information yet in the system and just told him to go to this parole orientation class on Monday and then go up there again afterwards. So then we headed out of town to go see his kids. We spent 2 days with his little girl that he had only seen one other time her whole life. She is 6 years old now. We stopped to see his 18 year old son on the way there and back. We had a very good weekend with his daughter swimming in the pond and riding a go cart they have. It was awesome to watch them together. She took to him very quickly. On Monday he went to his parole class and then back to parole and got his class schedule and then we went to DPS office to get his ID. By the time we were done with that it was already 4:00 p.m. We finally got to stay home on Tuesday and that is when the storms hit Dallas. On Wednesday we went back to see his daughter again and went to her school and met her teacher and watched her do her Easter Egg hunt and then went back to her house and colored eggs. On Thursday we stayed home again and did yard work together, which was fun! On Friday we headed back up to see his daughter again and picked his son up to go with us this time. Spent the night and did Easter with her on Saturday and more swimming in the pond. That girl is a fish. Lol! After we left there we went to a cousins house and saw some family there and then went to his brother's house to watch his band play and saw more family. Finally made it home late Saturday and went to church together and then spent the rest of the day relaxing before I went back to work today. I am glad to be back to work but I sure do miss him! We have already talked a couple of times and text several times. He does have some adjusting that he is dealing with and bad anxiety but we are working through it together and it is just wonderful to have him home! He was gone for 7 years and it is going to take some time. The ministry guys that were there when I picked him up said that it takes one month for every year they are locked up to adjust. He keeps thanking me for being so patient with him and telling me how much he loves me and appreciates all that I do for him. We are truely blessed!
