Default Who has a loved one in Cocopah Unit?

Hi! New outhere... had been doing a lot of researching here.. Is there anybody outhere being able to tell me something more about Arizona - Yuma - Cocopah unit??

Can they e-mail? What about visiting..contact visit when coming from Europe? International calls?
And very important.. what are the conditions like overthere?

So many questions.. yet no answers...

Does anyone have a loved one there?

No one housed in an Arizona Department of Corrections facility has access to the internet or email. In order to receive phone calls, you'll need to be approved for visitation, whether or not you're planning to visit. There is a $25.00 fee for processing the applocation. Click here to be connected to the ADC Visitor Application page. It takes approximately 3 months for applications to be processed. It may be easier for you to print out the application form as it's my understanding the on-line form doesn't doesn't have sufficient space to allow entry of international telephone numbers.

You have a couple of options for phone calls. One is to set up an account with Securus the other is to put money on his account so he can buy a phone card. He should be able to tell you if he's eligible for contact visits. Non-contact visits for Cocopah are on Tuesdays and have to be arranged in advance. Special visits, such as someone visiting from Europe, have to be requested by the inmate in writing to the Warden at least 30 days in advance of the visit. You may want to call the unit to get more specific information.

The following information is from the ADC Website for the facility in Yuma, specifically Cocopah
General Population Visitation is on Saturdays, Sundays, and posted holidays in two blocks from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Cocopah:
General Population inmates may receive visits both days.

Non-contact visits are held on Tuesdays and by appointment only (subject to availability - you must call well in advance).
Length of visit will be determined by the inmate’s phase level.
Special visits may be approved by the Cocopah Unit Deputy Warden at other times upon written request from the inmate at least 30 days in advance.
For more information and visiting rules, please call Cocopah Visitation at 928-627-8871 extension 16324.
