MONTEREY PARK, Calif. (KTLA) -- Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca and the American Civil Liberties Union will reveal details Tuesday on a road map to close the Men's Central Jail.

They'll announce the findings of a report developed by nationally-renowned corrections expert, Dr. James Austin, on how to safely close the facility.

Going to be interesting how people get moved around...my feeling is that this is a tactic Baca's using to get that shiny new facility where MCJ is right now that he's been trying to get. Methinks Bauchet and Virgines is gonna become a construction zone.

I heard about this too.. Interesting.
My husband was only in CJ for a week before he was moved to wayside and he said it was like a dungeon and really gross (he was maximum security). So i hope that if they do build another one, it will have better living conditions.

I made a thread below about inmates moving
What they are proposing is moving the most violent inmates 1800 of them from Men's Central Jail to Lynwood a woman's jail.
