Hi, I enrolled todayI will be completing my first assessment test Monday. I'm going for my BA in Psychology.
I will be taking online classes Full-Time, I was hoping to talk to anyone who is currently enrolled or has graduated from the Univ. Of Phoenix Online?
Also to find out if Fin aid provides checks to online schools and send you the refund later?
Yes I went there for a 3 terms you will receive your first check around your 8th week or 9th week of your 1st block of classes for a lil over 2800 and if you have direct deposit you will get it your 7th ! Don't forget to post and make attendance or you will not get it and if you do not pass your classes you have to pay for the class and will not get no money till they get there's for that class you failed , and you get checks every other block of classes like this is your 1st set next set you won't get it then your 3rd set you will ! Hope I helped
3rd set like you take 2classes that would be considered your 1st set of block then you take 2 more classe n finish that's your 2nd set then you take 2 more this is your 3rd set and would be wheb you get your 2nd refund class I don't rememeber but I think phoenix classes were 9 weeks so in like your 24th week of school u will get your 2nd check if your classes our 9weeks

I want to congratulate you on enrolling with UofP. I am a graduate from there and had an awesome experience getting my AA in psychology. I graduated 1-11-12.
Yes, financial aid will pay just as if you were enrolled in a campus-based college. I NEVER had an issue with my loans and I ended up getting around $3000 back after my tuition and books were paid.
I will suggest that you really look deep into the bachelors program they offer. I found out that my grade is not based on my work only, but rather a group. For example, you are assigned classmates, and those classmates grades are combined with yours. I am not interested in someone else being in control of my grade, only myself. I want my grade to be dependant on my work not a group.
I even asked them about that and my counselor said "yes you are placed in a group and that group and their efforts determines your final grade". WTH? So, that means if I give 110% and the rest of the team gives 75%, I may not pass the class? That is not right in my opinion.
Again, do your research. Once you get into your classes, go to the student resource center and look in there about the bachelors program, you will see people commenting about the grade being combined.
I wish you the very best! If you ever need to vent or have questions, feel free to PM me.
Peace~

I also wanted to share that you will be assigned 2 classes for 9 weeks.
One week you will have classroom posts, in one class, the other you will have assignments due. When you have class discussion you and classmates discuss a topic in a forum. You will be required to post a certain amount of substantial posts. That is all you will have for that week, in that class. The other class, you will have assignments due, and no classroom time.
The classes alternate one another, you will never have dicussion or assignments at the same time for each class.
PS. I always got around $3000 back every 4 or 5 months.
Peace~

UOP is expensive! Having said that, if you qualify for Pell or other grants and scholarships you can offset student loans. Make your financial advisor your new best friend!

To be fair not everyone will get the same amount back at the same times and remember that unlike grants and scholaraships monies refunded from your student loans are money you have to eventually repay.

I had thought about going there & they had told me I'd have to pay over $1000 out of pocket even though I get a pretty decent Amt of financial aid. Hmm
How's class going for you?

I go back June 4th too & my FA didn't cover.. At the community college though I get back quite a bit each semester (when I get my FA) I lost it for two more semesters! They are just crazy expensive I think!

I got my bachelors fro UoP. I have education benefits because I'm a veteran, so my bachelors was fully funded. I'm going back for my MBA this month and I only have about 8 months worth of my GI bill left, so I'm on the hunt for scholarships. There are a lot out there. I love the timing though. My baby has 16 months left and my masters program is 18 months. So, I'll be distracted enough to get through the last stretch and my baby will be home in time enough to see me graduate. Good luck on your studies,
I have 1 more week of university of Phoenix and IM DONE....my BSBM in Business Management. I just got laid off from my job so lets see what this degree does for me.
