Do not hesitate to call, they are very nice! I've called three times today. You'll need his TDCJ ID# and call between 1-4pm M-F and speak with records. They should be able to tell you what you need to know. My other half just transferred to Gurney on the 19th. To be fully processed it takes 30-45 days. They said visitation and phone calls can only happen after they are fully processed in. They said J-pay is really quick but they only get to the commissary every two weeks. Gurney is a transfer facility so as far as what goes on, it's always changing. Good luck!

I feel the SAME way! From what I understand they go through medical, dental, psychiatric evaluations, IQ testing, etc. I can't be 100% on that since I've never done it. I have sent a ton of letters through JPay since he has been there! He has a lot of catching up to do when he can write! Gurney prints them off in the morning so I am always sure to send mine the night before. Also, no mail on Saturday. Like I said, don't ever hesitate to call them with your concerns, they can answer many of your questions. Granted they aren't allowed to tell you some things.. :/ and we are all here for you!
