Default Anybody had their loved one serve less than sentenced?

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has ever had their loved one serve less time than they are sentenced for. I know they do 85% of their sentence, but do federals ever get early release? ever? sorry, just today is one of those days... i have my good and my bad....today is one of my bad days...seems like forever i've been waiting... i keep hoping against hope that maybe...just maybe they will release him early....

hope everyone is doing well!!!

Federal inmates get 47 days gtc on sentences that are a yr and a day or longer...
There is NO PAROLE for a federal inmate
They can take certain classes that will take time off their sentence like Rdap( varies from up to a yr off)

And they do get up to a year in a hwh but that depends too

What is the difference of state and federal? I'm not sure which one my friend is in but he got sentenced 4 years and will only do 2 but hopefully getting out in a few weeks on house arrest. He has done a year and has gotten 4 months of times cuts from substance abuse classes.

I had to ask this ?... My hubby is in Federal Prison and he got 30 months. He already got 2 or 4 months off. My ? is since he is not a US citizen, will any the gtc apply for him? I wish I knew if he was going to get out earlier. How long after do they tell him that he is getting out early, if he is? I guess it was 2 ?'s... Thanx!

Hi
On the bop website it should tell u his released date and usually the 85% is already part of that released date on the website. My husband was setence to 57 and did 48.45 he was released on 4/10/12 but now his under ICE custody waiting to go in front of a judge.

Wait so after he served his time, ice held him? I thought ice took them in the beginning of their sentence?

First they do their time then ice picks them up & some get deported right away and some have to wait to go in front of the judge & that can take up to 3wks after their release day =\ it sucks

My husband was picked up by ice on his released day at the facility he was at. I heard that sometimes ice takes a lil longer to pick them up but i honestly think that if an inmate has an ice hold they will b picked up by them.

yes any inmates city/county/state/federal with an ICE hold will be picked up by ICE on or around their date of release

where they go and what happens from there is a case by case issue
