My Fiance is at Lieber in South Carolina. I go to visit him often and wanted to know if anyone here had a loved one in there? It would be something if we already met each other at visitation and it would be cool to have each others support on this site as well. Also to fill each other in on whats going on in there.

I do for now until he is transferred from there. This thread will probably get moved to the SC regional forum, but I am in the L-Z group.

I normally go on Saturday or Sunday afternoon....how about you? You know that's funny we probably have seen each other.

My fiance was just transferred to lieber today and I'm still new to all this... I called to ask about his visitation but they wouldn't tell me anything :/ Ughh and I live 3 1/2 hours away!! His last name is Timmons.

My friend is at Lieber as well. Visitations rotate every weekend. So this weekend if I am correct Friday would be visits for A-K and sat and sun would be L-Z. Next week it would be the opposite. Anytime u want to visit always call before you make that trip. You will soon learn that they lock Lieber down a lot! I have made the trip only to have to turn back around. I have never had problems with the c.o. Oh visits on Fridays are 4-7 sat and sun are 8-12 or 1-5. If u want to purchase snacks u need to buy a pay key. It cost 5.00. And then u put how much money u want on it. It doesn't take 1.00 bills only 5, 10,20. For now I think that's pretty much it. If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask or even bug the crap out the c.o. At lieber.

BrittanyRae - I also live far away in upstate SC....My only son was transfered from Kirkland already 2 hrs away now even further away. Anyone know how to get him transferred to Perry - still a level 3 and only about 40 miles away?? I'm a stage 4 ovarian cancer SURVIVOR so far with 1 recurrence into brain. Needless to say I do not need to drive that far (likely to be turned away)!! Last name is Allison.

You can see about doing a hardship transfer to get him closer to home. I don't really know how you go about doing it. Your LO may know that. Tell him to look into it.

I am in upstate SC as well, in York...Close to Charlotte. I believe it's called a "hardship". It's some kind of paperwork you can fill out to request that he be transferred closer to home. Your health issues will be considered.. Or he would be able to apply for some christian college courses which will let him be transferred back to Kirkland to be on the ard there if he is accepted. That's what my fiance has done. I am driving 3 1/2 hours tomorrow morning for my first visit. I am 38 weeks pregnant, so I am praying I don't go into labor while I'm that far away from home & all by myself!! Do you know which dorm he is in? My fiance is in Edison (I'm pretty sure that's what it is called) His last name is Timmons....

can anyone tell me what is acceptable to send to an inmate on lockup at lieber?? i know u cant send pics but if i print a pic on paper am i allowed to send that?

You can send pictures. I send my friend pictures all the time. And not the paper picture but the actual picture. When you say he is in lockup do you mean he is in the hole or he is locked up in general?

While they are on lockup you cannot send pictures, any magazines/books that may have been ordered or in the process of being shipped will be returned, only items they're allowed to have is letters.

When he's off lockup, SCDC does not allow pictures printed on paper, you must print them on photo paper at home, or have them processed at a store.

Your son has to request the hardship information and he will let you know what items you need to complete the process.
