Nervous! Going to first visit

i am so nervous next sunday will be my first real actually visit with the bf.when he was in the county he was behind the glass and the visit was 15 min alittle longer if the p.o. was nice...I got the address change sticker on my license but i am nervous they will deny me and i dont want to drive a hour to get denied...so nervous and excited i miss him...was anyone.else.this.nervous for their first visit

I no exactly how ur feeling I'm going today to see my Hunnie after almost 2months without seeing him.
Where he was. Was also behind glass and only a hlf an HR. I'm super nervous! And excited I haven't felt his touch in over 4months I just can't wait to hug ad his him!. My biggest fear is to thar I drive al the way over there and I don't get to c him. That would crush me.. But I'm anxious! And I can't wait!

I don't think that will be a problem. You can call his spot and ask them though to make sure.

I would bring some kind of back up like a utility bill with your name just incase they decide to question you. Can never be over prepared!!!

i am actually thinking of getting another license i dont want any problems.. i miss him so much and i havent recieved another letter from him so he is not even gonna know that im coming. i hope he will be excited. i feel like a teenager lol

Alls it takes is one visit and you will be a pro! LOL We have all been there and have all survived. The main thing is to try and make sure that you are ready for visit so they don't turn you away.

1. Be on his approved list.
2. Be there early! At least 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Look around the parking lot and see if there is anyone else there already. Then go up to them and ask them if they know what position in line you are in. Someone will be able to tell you which car is counting and they will tell you what number you are.
3. Wear loose clothes, wear loose clothes, wear loose clothes! LOL And no plain white t-shirts, no khaki (tan) color clothes, no orange shirts, no plain grey shirts, no hoodies, no timberlane or work boots, no underwire bras, no shoes with steel shanks in them (You would be surprised at what shoes have steel shanks under the innersoles.) best bet is to wear sneakers. No big oversized jewelry. No metal barrettes or hair pins. All shirts must cover your butt and not be see through or low cut. You must have sleeves, no tank tops.
4. Each prison is different, so when you get there talk to some of the visitors waiting outside, they will tell you when to line up, when you get a sign in sheet, etc.
5. Do NOT forget your license and make sure your license has the address that you were approved with.
6. Don't park up front. If the parking spot looks too good, it is too good. Some of the prisons have restricted parking areas for visitors and parking areas for CO's and personnel. See if you can see where everyone else is parked. SSCF Compound A has several rows towards the back of the parking lot where you can park, don't know how it is in other prisons.
7. Normally you can have a hug and a kiss at the beginning and end of your visit. Again, watch what other's do and follow along.
8. Take a deep breath, after your first visit you will be a pro! You'll get the hang of it quickly! You will be fine! Now enjoy your visit! And don't think about the other's around you, just concentrate on your loved one and you will have a fantastic visit!

PS: Always keep a change of clothes and shoes in the car in case they don't approve something. Especially if you are going to try and push the limits of what's allowed. Keep loose jeans, big loose shirt (both in dark blue or black to be safe) sneakers and a bra with no underwire.) And do NOT bring your cell phone into the visit registration! Leave it in your car! You can get a charge for that!

Omg your the best i am so nervous still and we have to be there by 8-8:45 i am.so nervous like ge doesnt know im coming.at all he hasnt wrote me.yet so he will be.suprised. I hope i can control myself and.dont.jump.on him lol

I went on my visit to I see my Hunnie my son was so happy to c daddy he literally jumped right into his arms! It took all of me to not cry..
I've become a big cry baby. But all in all the visit was great! We laughed and talked hugged and kissed! God I needed that visit so much! & so did my son! HOW DID UR VISIT GO??

Gracy, I would get another license. I didnt want to change it with a address change so I got awhole new one to be safe. I drove 3 hrs and I didnt want to get turned away. I was nervous for my first visit but it all goes away and now i am going for my second and Im nervous all over again. Also, Like someone above said, bring extra clothes in the car. I went last weekend and I brought 2 of everything inculding sneakers just so I wont get turned away.

Thanx luvz...i had a great visit at the end it was hard because neither kne of us wanted it to end.. But what shocked me is that i was the only one with loose clothing .. Alk the other girls clothing was so tights some of them look like they was clubbing.. But all in all it was a great visit.. I miss him already
