TX might execute a man with an IQ of 61!
" During the appeals process Wilson was diagnosed with mental retardation by Dr. Donald Trahan, a court-appointed, board certified neuropsychologist with 22 years of clinical experience as a mental retardation specialist.
Previously, Wilson’s mental disability was not allowed to factor into his case in federal court because his lawyer at the time missed a filing deadline."

It also says within said article, mammastalkin, that petitions have been filed by Lee Kovarsky (the defence counsel of Marvin Wilson) before the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles (which, sadly, rarely grants even reasonable requests for pardons, commutations, and reprieves) and a writ of certiorari has been filed before the US Supreme Court. Therefore, there is still some hope that Mr. Wilson can avoid execution based on his intellectual disabilities.

Please read the enclosed article in the URL Link, entitled 'Mentally Retarded and on Death Row'. It concerns Marvin Wilson, whose hope of evading his impending execution in three days' time now seems pretty dim, alas

I hope so much Mr Wilson can avoid his execution and spare the USA doing another crime the civilized world is contempting.
The task is to win a struggle against adversaries who cast aside all human qualities, break every rule and every law, disregard national and moral boundaries, know no restraint and fanatically pursue the criminal aim of abolishing human freedom.

When will there finally be an end with this cold blooded murders. Stop the US killing machine now! Who are they think they are to decide on life or death of other human beings? My thoughts are with Mr. Wilson.

Not much so,alas,CvD. The US Supreme Court has sadly denied certiorari on Marvin Wilson's petition, and thus allowed his execution to go ahead tonight

Our thoughts are with him, his family and friends at this difficult time.

Very sad news

On the other hand, one should never be surprised at what the State of Texas is capable of doing. After all, Perry and George W. Bush are from Texas.
36 states in the US are still 40-50 years behind a civilized society. It is a continual embarrassment.
The death penalty is legalized state murder. What part of murder does one not understand, no matter who does it?

My thoughts are with Mr Wilson, his loved ones and all touched by this.

I am afraid the order is real, mammastalkin. It is the decision they made to deny certiorari that is bogus.

It seems to be all over for Marvin Wilson at this point

Thank you, mamma.

Isn´t it a shame to execute a mentally retarded person - a person with the mind of a child? And what for is the IQ 70 law created for if not for this case?
Society is judged based on how it treats its marginalized members...
There is no murder more premeditated than Capital Punishment.

It is so good to know for me that (most) PTO members are showing and living a very different level of compassion and empathy than the rest of this bloodthirsty mob!
