LMAO Sara!!! This is exciting news for those of us who have friends and family in prison. It was so nice to be able to talk to my husband everyday for .25¢ an email...if I needed something I knew that he would have the email within a couple hours of me sending it and he would be able to either email me right back or call me if need be. It's also exciting for us because we still have friends in prison that we keep in touch with and now we will be able to do that more often!!!!!

I haven't heard anything other than "it's coming soon." So, "soonish." You know you can e-mail him, right? Even if they don't have the computers set up for inmates to use yet. They just print off your e-mail and deliver with the regular mail. It's a little cheaper than a stamp and envelope, and gets there fast!

Ah, Anamosa has started the outgoing e-mail. It's only on one unit so far, but that's progress!

I think it should be... I -think- it's the only one left! Ladies (and gents!) who is with and without e-mail?

I think Mitchelville was first... then (in no particular order) Oakdale Gen Pop, Fort Dodge, and Anamosa. Anyone know about Clarinda, Newton, Luster Heights, and John Bennett?

I guess ISP will take some time. Hubby said a CO got hurt in the area where they were suppose be able to use Corrlinks so it will probably be a while. Somebody always have to mess things up.

Hi Everyone! As of the IDOC website there are about 3 facilities that do not have email that is back and forth corrlinks. Clarinda is coming along though! My man said today that in his unit N1st that they have a computer in the unit but it has yet to be programmed. SO this is excellent news for the wives/girlfriends/partners of those at CCF! My bet is on another month and a half and they will have them just about ready to go. Can't wait to get an email back from my guy instead of the letters! Much cheaper thanks!
