Has anyone dealt with the new crack law yet for federal mandatory minimum

I know the law went retroactive and I think my bf is eligible but I dont want to pay for a lawyer for nothing. Has anyone gone through the process yet?

If he is sentenced to a mandatory minimum then he will not benefit. If he got a guideline sentence then he will. If you don't want to pay for a lawyer then call the public defenders office in your location. He was probably notified if he can benefit, my husband was notified even though he didn't qualify.

Thanks for the info and yea we r in the same position so now just praying for time to go fast or a new law

My bf has the mantatory min but said there is another law that might get passed in Nov that would benefit these indivuals.
