Default Parole board hearing attorney?

I was wondering if anyone knows how much it would cost to hire an attorney for my husband who will be going before the board in 3 years. He has served almost 30 years of a 15 to life sentence, and has been incarcerated since the age of 16 in the state of California. He has been turned down many times, and I was wondering if it would be worth hiring a lawyer. We can't afford alot of money, and we know how the hearings go, what is required, ect., but we are not attorneys. I'm trying to get an idea, from anyone who may know, the costs, pros and cons of hiring a parole board attorney, and what they do for you. It may be something out of our reach, but any information regarding this would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Well I would recommend somebody who has experience with LIFER's. I will be hiring Mr Charles Carbone for my husband's upcoming parole board hearing in 3yrs as well. He has a really good lifer release record. PM me and I can give you a bit more information on my own case with that. There are a few that I know of, if you're interested in obtaining a few phone numbers and names from the list that I have, PM me and I will gladly provide you with that.

Thanks

We will be using Tracy Lum at the board hearing in Sept., 2012. She offers more than any others I've contacted and her fee is in the $3000.00 range, depending on which prison. Her contact info. is online and she will send you a letter detailing what she does.

Tracy lum is not only a great attorney, she is also an amazing person. She represented my husband two years ago. He is now home and she continues to be a great friend and support for him.

Listen, just my opinion, but any decent attorney will be able to tell you if you're wasting your money hiring him/her. I also think you should interview any prospective attorney. Ask the questions you want to ask - not just fee, but everything you want to ask. Ask when s/he'll meet with your inmate. Ask what documentation s/he needs. Ask what s/he thinks s/he can do for your loved one.

Be happy your loved ones get to go before the parole board. Mine never will. He has been given Life and in Mi there is no chance for parole. He is there forever. ;')

Hello, and thank you for the message. I would appreciate any information you have on any parole board attorneys. I know Mr. Carbone has a good reputation, but I don't know how much he charges, or if I can afford his services for my husband. I would appreciate any information you have on any attorneys, and any information you might have on anything having to with this kind of situation. Again, many thanks for your reply post.

Mr. Carbone is wonderful...it took three tries but my lifer is now coming home. Mr. Carbone worked with me. Give him a call and see what he says. My husbands hearing was Nov. 2, so in 120 days he will be out of what we call hell. Good Luck

Thanks for that post. My husband is in a similar situation and he has been down for 20 years. We talked today about getting him an attorney for his next parole hearing. Any information you get and are willing to share is greatly appreciated and vice versa

I have spoken to, Kieth Watley, of uncommon Law, and, in My opinion, He's the best. I'm savin to hopefully have Him at My Guys next hearing. Its around, $3000 . My Guy had a bad experience with Charles Carbone. Here's the link to uncommon Law
