Where you are depends on the dress code. Try looking at the website for your institution. We can here but I know nothing about South Carolina. Read a lot of the post at the top of these forums. YOu can learn a lot just by reading them.

I would just contact the facility specifically. That's the best way to know as it is different everywhere. The worst thing that they'll say is "no".

I have worn sandals before (no back strap) and never had a problem but it all depends on what kind of mood the person working the desk is in. Yes you can wear heels. make sure if your wearing a shirt the sleeves are not the 1/4 sleeve.

My boyfriend is at Lieber as well. I went to visitation yesterday. I wore flip flops and didn't have no problems. Matter a fact I seen other girls with flip flops on.

Your best bet is to call the institution and ask the CO who answers the phone... All institutions dress codes differ, and what happens at one place won't be the same as another.. Even if a person has gotten in the week before wearing something you thought was inappropriate, if YOU wear it the very next week, it's very possible you can be turned away.. {especially if they're already giving you a hard time!}. As long as you've called ahead, and asked for a CO's advice, and "get their name"... You can mention this on visit, and very likely, you won't be turned around... I know at Walden, we can wear flip flops, but last year, we couldn't????? Don't take it for granted, that just because you've seen someone else get in with a certain article of clothing on, that it's valid... Always ASK first... and get a name... Best of luck, and God bless!
