Default Question re: timeframe of transport

Parole has been granted and he is to be picked up on a specific day... Is there any way to find out when he needs to report to the other state? When I talked to the parole agent at the prison he told me 24 hours... We are 2 1/2 hours from the prison as it is and by the time I get him and get back home it will be late afternoon. (I will be arriving back from being out of town at 9:30 am that morning and then will have to drive another 4 hours from the airport to where he is). Can they actually say 24 hours which would mean we will have to drive all night with no sleep to get him down there. From here it is approx 11 hours to get there from here and that is not stopping except for gas...

How can I find out? The institution is not being helpful at all!!! I also put a call into the interstate transfer office and haven't heard back from them either.

Yeah, he most likely will have to be there the next day. You can ask for sure, but most people have to report the following day.

Did you call the other state's parole office? They should know when he will be required to sign in.

No I did not... So they should be able to tell me? Do I actually call the state parole office or the person assigned to his case?

If you know who his PO will be, try calling him/her.

Since there is a reference to reporting to another State, this sounds like a Compact case. In a lot of those instances, there is usually 48-72 hours afforded for travel, especially if there is a weekend involved.
