Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

Please be aware that, due to difficulties arising from issues with Yahoo and AOL, we have changed our registration requirements.

thinking of going down this weekend, if anyone lives in the charlotte area and would like to make a trip, im game, will stay the entire weekend, and come back on the 5th, taking a trip to usp lee in jonesville va, dont want to make the trip alone

I can't seem to find any thread on USP LEE in VA. It might be cuz I'm on the pto app on my iPhone. Just looking for posts on that facility. My friend is there

There isn't a specific forum for USP Lee...The best place to post is usually in this forum. There are other forums that are dedicated to specific facilities, however there isn't one for USP Lee.

I just go home from USP Lee, my son is in the camp. He has been very lucky. It is not a bad place and everyone has been very nice. He has not had any complaints. Which takes some of the stress off of me. I am not always worried about him. If you have questions I will try to answer. Is your friend in the camp?

yes i have a friend that is there...i was just trying to find out any info about the place, like what i can send in a letter or not, how that facility does money on the inmates books, and so on.

Is your friend at the camp? Where are you located? I send money through Western Union on line. He gets it with in the hour. Has worked great for us. Paying the 6.95 fee is worth not worrying about if it got there or not, I know right away. They also have email.

My mans in lee. I love doing the wu online thing for his books, so much quicker. Also glad for the email so we can talk daily back and forth. We need a usp lee forum!

Default USP--Lee
The United States Penitentiary (USP) - Lee in Jonesville is a high security facility housing male offenders. An adjacent minimum security satellite prison camp houses male offenders.

USP Lee is located in southwest Virginia in Lee County, 8 miles east of Jonesville, off U.S. 58 at the intersection of State Route 638.

Gettin' wild and crazy there at USP Lee. This posted today on the guard's union website:


USP Lee, June 1, 2012
At 9:26 a.m., a female officer working a housing unit was sexually assaulted by an inmate. The inmate approached the officer and grabbed her buttocks and squeezed. Responding staff escorted the inmate to special housing.

Default Lockdown USP LEE
Been searching everywhere for info on this lockdown at Lee. I know there was some type of fight. Does anyone know how long, or whats going on?

At first I thought my BD was just not calling, but they were locked down for 3 days last week, then back on again the 29th... UGH!

I just took a gamble and booked a flight to visit my husband for mid April. I'm needing some advice/ideas about available hotel/motel accomodations in the area. Has anyone been there and have any insights to share with me? What can I expect, when does processing begin? Is it first come first serve style or do you need an appt? Does the facility have a visiting office you can call and ask questions of? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
