WOW.So sorry you had that experience.
They usually seem to be pretty fast so the "improvements" seem to have made a pretty good system (given the prison situation of course) go bad an that sucks.

What changes did they make?

When you come in you don't fill out that little white paper anymore, u just take a number and sit. Then once u get called they ask you the basic info and enter into computer, and give you a sheet of paper with his picture and i go on it. Then you go sit and wait to be called for metal detector. Then CO checks off on your sheet of paper ratings, rings, etc and u go thru metal detector. Then you go to visiting room as normal and check in w guy at door but he doesn't write anything down. Go to podium and hand CO's the computer print out and they seat you.
I think once kinks are worked out it may be same as before but the wait to get through metal detector was 45 min to hour and then me and another lady waited almost 1 hr in visiting room before guys came out. So even though I arrived at 9:30 I didn't see his face until 11:55!!

Omg, are you serious, thats crazy...I thought the ole system was good...prob cuz I got in faster...wow, I'm worried now, guess that means everyone will just have to come extra early now...this really sucks...ugh

Yea gurl. you have to go early. It takes a while to get back there. I believe its better then then the old system. My man hates they put that photo on the paper they hand u. lol but its cute tho=)

****Hello Lovely Ladies****.....
I wanted to stop in and say **wats up** to everyone with loved ones in SATF!!!! Im a newbie to this prison....My <3 One N Only<3 is being tranferred this month and i just wanted to *meet and greet* all the women that hold it down for their men here at this prison....me and my Angel r MWI and hope to be married very soon (hopefully by 2013 or 2014).....Im sure ill have alot of questions to ask and im hoping this prison is a lil better than the one hes leaving behind......

I miss Calipatria....sobbing...cuz I was able 2 viz my baby every 2 weeks...now he'z 9hrs away rather then 3hrs away from Phoenix....& my viz to Corcoran was horrible...the whole thing...I couldn't even sit next 2 him, shoulder to shoulder..holding hands...but hopefully in a year we can go back "IF" he behaves himself...he better to cuz he knows I'm unhappy...

Well,the new way they process when you arrive did not seem to slow things down in shu.
The visist was great but the darned hour just seems to fly by and before you know it,they are telling him to cuff up so they can take him back to his cell

It seems that with so many new arrivals to the new section andmen getting transfered,nobody has a loved one in shu anymore.

It's funny- it just depends where u came from. Corcoran is sooo much better compared to high desert... That place was hell. But next to mule creek it's worse.

I thought mule creek was the best so far- it was much more relaxed... High desert was HELL

My baby was at HD before he moved to Calipatria, they were always, I mean always on lockdown...that was by far the worst he has ever been....next 2 Cocoran, lol...hopefully it gets better soon...start running program regularly...

hi im new to some of this. my fiance is still at wasco state prison and was just told that they will be moving ppl out and his building is the first to move. not sure which he is going to yet either corcoran or pleasentvalley is what they said. but my question is will i have to fill out another visiting form for which ever prison he goes too? or is the one i did and was approved for at Wasco, will that stay with him and get transferred with him?

Welcome to Cor if your man is sent here but to answer your question as long as your visiting info is current and up to date it transfers to any California state prison. So no yrou dont apply again. Good luck on your transfer!
