I am sorry that you are going through this and I hope you find your peace soon so the next five years are bearable for you. We have 5 years down just a few more to go.

Well thank god he won't be doing 5. He got sentence to 5 years but with good time and they are taking 6 months off for being in jail he diffently won't be doing 5 years. Now I just have to wait on DOC to post his release date which I hear in Louisiana right now will take 3-4 months...WOW!

His 5 year sentence will be cut in half, so he'd only do 2 1/2 years. Minus the 6 months of time served. So then he's looking at 2 years. But if your state allows time cuts for working or school, then he'll do even less time.

Stay strong. Im glad to hear he will be doing much less time we also have two daughters.. I think thats the hardest part of it all. The pain I feel I can manage.. But It hurts my heart so bad that their father isnt here to watch them grow. And when my older daughter acts as if shes talking to him on the phone.. Its such a bitter sweet moment. Luckily my man is also doing a short amount of time. It will go by quick. Stay busy

Thanks hun! The judge recommended the Impact program which is a bootcamp so if he completes it, he does 6 months in the prision bootcamp and 6 months in rehab

Yea I guess. I'm sorry I know alot of woman are waiting longer and 2 in a half years doesn't sound long to alot of you, but to me right now at this moment seems like forever. I guess i'm just still in shock, like can't beleive this is happening to us. What hurts the most is my children will be older and him missing all that and not only him but them. No that isn't there real dad but that man loves them like there own and they adore him just the same. (I'm crying now) I'm just very emotional right now, and I know it will get better in time or maybe not better but managable. But right now I hurt so much.

I'm glad that through everything you have found some positive...you have a routine, he's gotten credit for time served, and he's potentially eligible for some programs to lessen the time even more. I hope that he really sticks with it because we ALL deserve better than to have to go through this even one more time! Best of luck!!

I know how you feel.
Sometimes I feel so lucky that my hubby is only spending 21.4 months in prison but other times I'm so depressed and it feels like it's a lifetime. </3

Just kills me that I have no idea when I will be able to hold him again. I love him so much and although I did prepare myself for this day, I'm still crushed, I guess I was hoping a micrale would happen and he would be home in a year. This hurts sooo much and to think how old would our two daugthers be when they see him.
I know how you are feeling my boyfriend got 5years and it seems like it is going to be the longest 5 years of my life but he has been in since July 1,2011 and I swear it goes by faster than we think at 1st.If you need some one to vent to fill free to
