in my last letter i told him i wish i could come stay the weekend to see how things realy went for him in thier ( plain and simple they are not going to tell us the truth of how bad it is and what really goes on. they dont want us to worry) and he told me although he would love to see me and spend time with me he would not allow me to be in that S### hole. and see the stuff that goes on their. But yes i would if i could!

I would love to be locked up with Lou for 24hrs!
We would definitely kick his cellie out and put our blanket up firstly :-) Since he's obsessed with summer sausages & soup, he can show me how he cooks that up for our dinner, go walk his dog or play handball a wee while...then find out what he does in the library, since I know he's not reading a book! Watch a movie, snacking on Doritos and starbursts.....then go work in the kitchen for 3hrs and get all sweaty and wet, shower, more tv. I'd have to watch him workout tho, since what he does would probably kill me! lol

I have not held my husband in four years because the facility he's in now, the case manager is dragging his feet. My husband has been incarcerated for 16 years, so heck yes I would stay with him forever.

Absolutely I would, judt to let him know I'm there for him and to give me a better understanding of what goes on so that I wouldn't be so worried and I'm sure he would feel beter and it wuld probably make thing a little easier and simple on our hearts.

I absolutely would. Without hesitation. I've seen the dorms. Though small, they really aren't that bad. Spending a night with him right now would mean the world to me so I'd do it under any circumstance.

Prisons should consider instituting this as an incentive for good behavior. No DR's for a certain period of time and your significant other can come spend a night with you. Or maybe even consider giving married couples the option of doing time together; say your husband gets sentenced...you have the option of doing that sentence with him, have special couple's housing, ect..

Oh hell yeah! Except my man is in housing type unit and has to share a room with a stinky old man who throws his toe nail clippings on the floor. If it were only me and my man, yes for sure I would spend 24 hours with him. I am blessed to be able to have 6.5 hours of an open contact visit but 24 hours would be amazing!!!!!

Sounds good! Still, how about children, who lose a parent to the correctional system and the parent who is raising them without the help of their mother or father, who is incarcerated. The fellow that I am currently interested in finding is not my father, but I was still a mess at the young age of twelve, after he got sentenced to LWOP. My mother did not know how to deal with me and I'm sure, she would have appreciated any help she could have gotten, had there been someone in my life at the time that could get me to talk and may have known how to deal with me. I think about everything, I went through at twelve and I can only imagine how much more difficult it must be for the biological children of incarcerated parents. Thus, if the child or children of an incarcerated parent are in their teens and the parent outside feels that they would do better with the incarcerated parent, why not let the child stay with the incarcerated parent? This is not to say that those children, who have a parent serving LWOP should spend the rest of their lives locked up, but let the child stay with the parent until they have regained stability and in some cases, it may be necessary to let the child stay with the parent until they reach adulthood.

Wow, I cant believe this thread it going on. Thanks for all that have taken part. I would do it with my friend. We have the most awesomest (if thats a word lol) converstaions. He talks more than me. I didnt think that could happen. lol I would love just to be his arms. I know he would have other things on his mind since he been down for almost 10 years.

Well I won't spend 24hrs with him in his cell that's not alot of time I will spend 72hrs..lol I wanna sleep next to him cuddle tell him how much I miss him n how much I love him n kissin him hugging him n I will like to see what he dose every day.. dammm I would do alot of things if I will spend sometime with him!!

I would definitely spend 24 hours with him in his cell, just the two of us, cuddled up on his bunk, drinking coffee and snacking on whatever he has to snack on, soups lol. I love him so very much!!!!
