Default My oldest child

My son is only 19 years old. This is his first time ever in prison, and it has hurt me the most. I often tell him that my child, were not born to go to prison. I tried to give him the guidance he needed while growing up. It seems like when he moved out on his own is when he started to engage in troubled activities. He has been in prison since February 2012, and was due to come home June 23, 2012. To my surprise, I check the internet this morning for any changes to his status, and there was a major change. He is now in administrative segregation, and for the life of me, I can not figure out what happened. How can you only have 38 days left, and then start to get into trouble? I know that sometimes other inmates can find out your release date, and cause you to fight or whatever their sick minds can think of to keep someone else from going home. I question my child though, wondering, are you that crazy, that you can not see through the things that these young men are doing. From his first day in prison, I have wrote him daily. I explained to him the things my brother expressed for me to tell him, because my brother is in Federal Prison for 10 years. My brother also started out at the same prison that my son is currently located now. I am just upset and I can not wait until he gets the heck out of that horrible place. To all you mothers here, I know the hard road that you have gone on. I never thought that I would ever have to travel this road. I will be praying for the safe return of your sons and daughters, and hope that god gives you the same strength that he has given me to deal with this life changing experience.

I am sorry your hurting. I went to visit my son and was talking to some of the other people in line and both of them had inmates in AdSeg. They said their LO's preferred AdSeg because it was easier to stay out of trouble! Maybe your son "put" himself there to keep himself safe and out of trouble until release. June 23rd is so close.......Stay positive!

Bless your heart....I know that must have blown you away....but glad it did not blow you off your feet! You are so right....God does give us the strength we need to get through it...and he puts people in our path to help us along the way....and that's why you found your way to us!!! You are not alone in your pain.....we will help each other along this rough road we walk.
I'm hoping and praying that you get a letter from you son soon....and, like Kidzmom said, maybe he did ask to be there...? Lots of them do.
I will keep you, your son, your brother and your family in my prayers!!
Please keep us posted....we do care deeply. I am praying that you will still see your son walk through those gates on June 23!!!
Love and prayers,
XXOO
