so has anyone had a recent family visit that they can answer my questions about? I need to know if they are still only 3 days long and how often we get them.

They are 3 days (me personally I go in on a Friday around noon-ish & they release me at 9am Sunday morning), and depending on your husband's status there you can get FV's every 90 days or every 6 months.

Your husband will know if he's closed custody or not & how frequently you can get your visits.

I hope that helps & good luck!!!

No... Family visits are Friday to Sunday's & Sunday to Tuesday (@ least on a level 3 yard) here @ Solano...

Keep in mind every facility is different & days, rules, times, etc. change depending where you are.

My husband is at California Medical facility in Vacaville and since there is never anyone on that forum I was hoping I could get help here. I just sent in my marriage license and my husband says when they get that they will start processing the paperwork. On average does that usually take 3 months or longer? Also at the trailer that you have the family visits at do they have dishes and pots and pans or do you need to bring your own. Also do they provide a crib or playpen for a toddler and are you allowed to bring toys?

Honestly each facility is different & the Allen things differently. You can call Vacaville & speak to either his counselor or the family visiting coordinator to see what the hold up is.

Good luck!

Does the counselor keep the marriage license once you send it to them or do they copy it and send the original back to you? I sent mine weeks ago and haven't gotten it back yet.

This question may have been answered before, but when sending money to the FV account, is it a check or money order with the inmate's name on it?

Thanks!

Robertswifey, Solano keeps your original AND you have to bring an original or a certified copy every single time you have a visit.

You need to send a certified cheque. This is how I was told to have it made out...

Pay to the order of Inmates Name & CDC #

And in the Remitter/Memo Your Name
No Restitution (if your husband has it)/Family Visit.

Can you put the money on the inmate's books through Jpay for the family visiting?

Yes & no... If your inmate owes restitution you can but they take 55% once it hits his books (& he can use it for store & medical). But if you send in a cashiers cheque and the no restitution form that the facility provides you for family visits the whole amount goes toward just the food for your family visit and your love one does not have access to it for store or anything of that nature.

Now if your loved one does not have restitution then yes you can use Jpay BUT the money you send via Jpay they can use for anything plus family visit. This means that if he has to go to medical or he buys something from store all of it comes out of those funds...

Jpay does not offer a no restitution option for family visit only...

I hope that makes sense... Good luck!

Ok... As long as his sentence didn't have life attached to it then he is eligible for FV's. BUT he has to be approved for FV's, he can go through the approval process w/his counselor. His crime could not have anything to do w/a sexual crime or a domestic violence crime.

As for how long it will take for you to get a visit determines how long his orientation last. Orientation can last up to 14 days.
