NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe it... I won't believe it. I just read your post NY. I'm so sorry. I don't come on here very often. Somehow the time passes quicker that way. You have inspired me so much over the last few years with your story of courage, steadfast loyalty, and true love. I don't believe true love ever goes away. However, sometimes it requires us to come to the end of ourselves to know what it truly means. I have no doubt that your love has been true. One thing I know is that true love is never easy.

My man has grown up in prison for the last 17 yrs. He was only 16 when he went in. Right now we're waiting on the governor of Calif. to sign a bill into law that would somehow give my love a chance for review and resentencing. It would be a miracle and the sheer grace of God if that were to happen, but he tells me that he will never live a normal life on the outside after all this time, and it's only half of your's. I have thought more and more about how hard it would really be. I am under no false illusions of a romanticized life with him. Hard work and more hard work is what we're in for, IF this door opens. NY, you may have heard this many times, but the only reason we have this love is that God first loved us. It has taken us many years to undo what the past and our sinful desires have made of us. We have been broken before God, down on the floor in absolute surrender to the strength He alone can give us. By His guidance, we have peeled back the layers of our selfish ways and become completely transparent before each other. God alone gives us the strength to move forward in faith, to love and accept each other, to give of ourselves when we feel we have nothing left to give. True love is never easy but it's the only thing that's worth living for. You've said it yourself in so many ways.

Believe me... when you find yourself in a place of utter helplessness, it is then that your soul is stretched and you can grow into the person you were always meant to be. It takes time and tears, but it's always worth it. The purest gold can only shine bright when it is refined by fire. Let the fire burn away the impurities and you will be left with a love beyond your wildest imagination. All I can do is pray for the chance to walk through that fire.

Love is not something that happens to you, LOVE IS A DECISION.

If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love's sake only...
But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou mayst love on, through love's eternity.
