Default Parole Hearing has me confused

Hello, this is my first post....I have a loved one in a county jail, has been since August of last year (not his first time in). I am so confused as to what is going on....I went to the site, inmate lookup...and about 2 or 3 weeks ago it had his parole hearing set for June 20th of this year, well went back and looked it went back to Feb. 13 of this year. Called down in Knoxville and talked to this rude woman that told me well if he had stayed out of trouble he wouldn't be going through this right now, I felt like telling her thats not what I'm calling about I'm calling about some information to why his parole hearing went back to Feb. of this year, doesn't make any sense. And on the same not she told me to tell him to have his family and friends stop calling (which I'm the only one that does anything for him), by the way was my first time calling. But I don't know how to go about finding out why his parole hearing went back to Feb. of this year, I have tried to call this lady but it seems like you can not get ahold of anyone. I'm so confused, so any information to how I can go about finding out why his date went back would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

You have to get information from him-they are not required to tell you. If time has changed, he'll definitely know why.

Welcome to Prison Talk. Be sure to check out the TN prison forums too. I'm sorry you encountered one of the nasty ones who get jobs in the prison/parole system, but try to ignore her and hope for someone better the next time you call.

and their Parole subforum too.

Thank you. He's in Hawkins county jail and they don't let you know much down there. He put a request in for a time sheet and to see if he could talk to one of the men that is in charge over that and hasn't been able to talk to him yet. When he had asked about a month ago the man told him that it was set for June but didn't know the date, but this was before I found out the date had changed on the computer. So he doesn't know anything right now. I'm so confused and can't get ahold of anyone about the situation. When I called one of the parole officers she had told me it didn't make any sense to why it had changed all the way back to Feb. when that date had already passed. The rude lady also told me that TDOC is the ones that make the docs and he isn't on it. I guess I'll just continue calling until I found out why it had changed.

The question that makes this more relevant to a State-specific forum is that parole eligibility in some States is PURELY a mathematical formula from which a date is derived. I see, on a regular basis, people who are technically eligible for parole a few months PRIOR to the date they were sentenced just because of how good time calculations in Texas function. Your State could well be very much the same...
