So I wasn't going to make the four hour trip to see him because he has such a short time until release but I didn't have the heart to tell him that so I'm going.

My question is what clothes are visitation friendly? Of course I know no v necks or opened toed shoes or yoga pants but what about underwire bras? Should I avoid this?, because I don't want to be strip searched lol and what about metal buttons on jeans? Will those prompt a strip search as well?

The visitation clothing guidelines should be posted on the prison's website and/or the DOC website for your state. I'd check there first. Guidelines vary a lot from state to state and even prison to prison.

Yea I checked them and it was the basics. I'm mostly concerned about the jeans and under wire bra. I'd rather avoid a strip search.

I was able to visit Harnett with flip flops on. Yes I know it varies but I would think they'd want open toe so you can't put anything in your shoe.

Didn't know about the v-neck though...

ive worn flip flops and v-necks....as long as the girls are mostly covered and your dress or shorts are not above the knee your good, no tanks or tube tops...
