The CO said it will be worst. Alot of inmates are putting in complaints and said we should too. They have a patio that they can open up and they dont.

Not all Sny are like this, believe me. We have been to 4 other places since going Sny and this is the only one like this. It is the worst so far. My husband has already requested a transfer and was told to wait til his annual. it is a nightmare for family and way worse for these guys. I have already heard some really bad stories about stuff that goes on there.

He has a annual in December I hope the do it in December. They usually run way behind on those...How do you just transfer? You have to have a hardship to move and that is usually iffy. Good luck

Default Transferring to Tehachapi - maybe

I will tell you the food is ok. Or it WAS.
They are pretty strict on contact.
I think he's got to get thru orientation before visits but not for sure on that. You dont need to call, just get there in the am, park the car and go into the visit processing area, fill out the visit form, and wait.
Metal detector is super sensitive. CO's are strict on clothing.
They tell you what table to sit at. Short little chairs and tables.
They do take pics, but buy the ticket before you go in. (2 dollars?)
Hub tells me that at CCI lv2 there are different *levels* of normal.
lol.(regarding programing)
Unless they are on modified for some reason, its as normal as it gets.

There is a chance my son may get transferred to Tehachapi - although I know it is a crap shoot. He is in Donovan now and his counselor said he was looking at either Tehachapi or Norco. I will be coming from east coast. Are vistitation rules any different for me? What about family visits? How do they work? Thanks

You would need to request a family visit. And truth be told Im not sure how to do that. You may get better info from reading this thread:
http://prisontalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=520806

The only problem I can see if your son is mainlined is if they go on lockdown and dont have visits. That would really stink to come so far and not be able to visit.
If he is still in reception you would need an appt.

Yes that would majorly suck if the facility was on lockdown and I spent 400 bucks to get out there and another couple hundred for lodging.
OMG I don't want to even think about that - I know it is like gambling - hope the odds are with me.

I think, but I can be wrong, that if a Family Visit is planned and a lockdown is in place those visits are not affected. Unless he is directly responsible or involved for the reason of the lockdown.

Hello ladies I'm new to this. My husband is going to be getting transfered by Nov 7th. He has been in reception @ Wasco for 18 months. So I can't wait to have contact visits. He is in sny does any one have any insight on how the visiting and phone calls work. I'm all new to this. Thank you and God bless.

From my understanding all of CCI is SNY. Orientation for most yards are 3-5 days. You can have contact visits right away as long as you are approved visitor.

Here is some basic info on the facility as far as what yard have what levels and classes that they offer.
