I met Jack on Georgia's Death row in 1994. He was always so polite. He had a visitor that saw him often. She had met him while her son was in Jackson. I'd like to tell her especially that I am thinking of her and thinking of Jack. God love you both.

According to the article he had a smile on his face when he died. I'm glad to hear that the execution was not a painful as you read about sometimes.

Pity, they did not commute his sentence to LWOP. The article seemed to indicate he was a model prisoner?

Sixty-one years ago today, Jack Alderman was born in Savannah, Georgia. On 16 September 2008 he was executed by that same state for a crime he did not commit. By that time, he had spent 33 years on death row, making him the longest serving prisoner awaiting execution in the US.
