Default Rehab for a parolee help..

My boyfriend is on parole has been for over a year. Hes suffering from a drug addiction, and he wants to get help but is scared to go to his parole officer about his problem. He has never violated or had a UA hes failed. What are his chances of getting the help he needs and how should he go about it so that he won't go back to prison for asking for help for his problem? someone help please

Its best if he does go to his parole officer and ask for help. My boyfriend was going through the same thing and didn't ask for help and instead stopped showing up. So of course they issued a warrent for him. In the end though he did end up going to rehab because he asked (his lawyer) for it and the judge granted it for him. But it could have ended up worst.
He also had a friend with the same problem but he did it the right way and told his probation officer. He did go to jail but the probation officer helped him get the rehab. It looks alot better and your chances are higher if you ask for help vs relasping like my man did. Even my mans field officer told him to do the same. To tell his probation officer so they can help him. either way he will go to jail but they will help you arrange it to get help.
I hope that helps. We are in texas too so mabey it will in yalls case.

not sure where you guys live but he could also go to AA or NA meetings on his own. Build a support group, then if he needs more help he can go to his parole officer. I feel any person whose mandated to do something won't get all he/she can get out of it. People do better when they want to do something.

He can also try the SMART Recovery, Winner's Circle and S.O.S. groups. They have online meetings, too. He should look into some local outpatient groups. Most of those are not free, but many are based on his income. If he is serious about getting help, that is the first step and he can do it. One day at a time. Good luck!

My guy just violated his parole same thing..He should go to his parole officer NOW BEFORE he violates if he is still in addiction he WILL violate so have him go to his PO while his PO can still help..He wont beable to help if he violates then the PO just has to do his job and put your man back in jail and it will probably be with stupid charges your guy picks up using..Good luck I will keep you both in my prayers that he truely wants to be clean & that you get a full complete drug free man in your life to love and enjoy together..

My Jailbird kept violating his probation due to addiction... so it's really best for your guy to ASK for help before he violates anything because of his addiction. The probation officer WILL have resources and he probably will be impressed that he asked for help early on. I called my guy's probation office for drug programs and residential drug programs.. turns out they actually offer these programs.. so if your guy's PO gets all pissy and violates him, at least it will be because he asked for help.. not because he failed a drug test. That will look so much better in the judge's eyes. A drug addiction.. will make it inevitable for your guy to violate his probation if he doesn't ask for help early on. yes, he can still get help after the worst happens.. but ahhh, easier just to do it early
