CIM Mail Thread

Welcome to your mail thread. Please take a moment to read the below post to see what can and can't be mailed into CIM.

The following may be mailed to your loved on in a large manilla envelope:

40 Stamps or 40 embossed envelopes (of any size) Please note:40 stamps and 40 embossed envelopes in one enclosure are not acceptable. Acceptable is 40 stamps and 40 plain envelopes in one enclosure.

300 or less sheets of standard or legal size writing paper (white or yellow) heavy weight or sketch paper are not allowed.

12 or less No. 2 pencils with erasers attatched (MSF, PWC,CIM II inmates only) Process case inmates (inmates in reception) may recieve 12 or less golf size pencils. Please note mechanical pencils, drawing pencils or colored pencils are not allowed

10 or less clear BIC pens (MSF, PWC, CIM II inmates only). Ink or felt tip markers are not permitted. Process case inmates may not recieve ink pens.

1 address book, soft cover only.

5 or less greeting cards (No 3-D attatchments or stamps) Must be unsigned and accompanied with envelopes.

Photographs:There is no limit to the amount of photographs. The maximum allowable sixe is 8x10. Please note: picture frames, polaroid, child nudity, frontal nudity, photographs depicting sex or sex simulated acts, bestiality, alcohol, weapons, gang signs or acts of violencce are not permitted.

Currency is not permitted. Money orders and checks are acceptable and must include the inmates last name and CDCR #

Examples of unauthorized mail enclosures include but not limited to: adhesive stickers, labels, glitter, plastic items, legad documents or certificates, credit cards or pre-paid telephone cards, metal items, mucical devices or laminaated items of any kind. An item not listed above may not be authorized. Questions relating to authorized mail enclosures should be addressed to the CIM mailroom Supervisor or mailroom Sergent.

Unsanitary (soiled, stained, marked, discolored) letters or envelopes will not be accepted for delivery. Also itmes in excess of authorized limits will not be accepted. Please be advised that priority or overnight mail does not guarantee overnight delivery. Mail is not routed directly to the institution, but is collected Monday through Friday from a mail distribution center.

Mail had started to pick up my guy was getting his mail. At first it was taking u to 2 weeks to get it. So i hope it has picked up for you by now

I know it sometimes take about a week for it to get to them. So maybe that's the hold up. But I'm sure you have received something by now right?

I have a friend who was transferred to CIM SHU from Norco. I tried to send him 3 single issue magazines and they were returned with no explanation. I went through mymagstore.com and they have no idea why either. Does anyone know if there are special rules about magazines for someone in SHU? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Is it just me or what but all my mail is being returned for putting perfume and kisses?! I am so upset!!!

He will get it sometimes it takes a while

My man gets his envelopes and paper pack when I send it pretty quick. Letters though are another story! I talked to him the day before yesterday, and we figured letters are getting to him about 2-3 weeks after I send them. They will get there eventually, just at the mail room's pace. That would be super slow.

My Man is in Chino Reception. I only got his CDC # Does anybody know the mailing address?I want to send stuff out but I havent got anything from him yet Thanks!

You can either wait for a letter from him to get his complete address, or call into the facility (which is what we all usually do) request his mailing address. You will need to provide his name+bday or CDC and they will provide you with the exact address.

My man is leaving Chino idk where his next stop is but I'm sure it will be a far drive compared to Chino. will he be mainlined once he gets there? So we can have contact visits? And how early can I visit once he arrives there? Excited confused but ready for this shit to be over

I just heard he's leaving Chino prison & is headed to Centinella or Ironwood which I don't understand since he's being released in less than two months ? I'm so sad and scared of change I'm so use to him being there I'm broken up about all of this

Mine too! They sent it back with a big arrow pointing to my kisses saying "no lipstick cannot deliver" And my man keeps saying he wants to smell my perfume! uughh

My dude got mainlined to chino last week, so I don't really do the mail thing being that we talk every day and visits every weekend but his bday coming up and I wanna time it with the mail for birthday cards.

He's on the west building. Anyone have an approx idea how long it takes them to get mail?

This morning I got a letter from him dated 7/19.. wow 2 days?! That seems crazy quick.. anyone know how long it takes for them to receive mail? Is it that fast too?

Wow, that's faster than mine! Mine was date 7/17 and i got it today but I think that's because my man knows I like getting a letter on Saturday so he waits til the right time to send it out. But mail going out to us comes real quick, 2-3 days at least for me. He just got a card that I mailed about a week and half ago so it's still taking about that to get to them.
8-10 days it takes (but it changes all the time) very rarely a week til it gets to them but if the mailroom is backed up and there's no one to help it's taken 3 weeks before!!

Yea maybe cuz I only live 20 minutes away but I was suprised it was so fast.. hopefully it doesn't start to take 3 weeks! He'd go crazy thinkin I'm just not writing lol.. thank you..
