Its official now....got a letter yesterday that <3my Hunny<3 is being transferred to Corcoran in about a month from Calipatria....
(Calipat 2hr drive; Corcoran 5hr drive > that sucks big ones!!!) There r a few questions that i have.....since i am approved at CSP will i have to send in a new visiting form or is the one i have approved good for anywhere he goes??? Is it easier to get appt times thru email or thru calling??? Ive always done email cuz i have no patience for their 30mins of letting the phone ring off the hook!!!

Guess from here i gotta make my rounds at the Carpool Thread cuz i wanna go see <3my Baby<3 when hes out of reception

Wen hes off orientation he can have contact visits but here we dont have the appointment system you just show up after 8am to get a number pass nd wait until your number is called to get processed... i was approved at SVSP nd wen we got here it transferred over.

You DO need an appointment if he is not general population!
You book 6 a.m. Monday moring through e-mail and then visit not that weekend but the following one.
I would e-mail if you find that easier but not if you want a two hour visit (over 250 miles on their map and over a month since last visit, also not a holiday) and you should say "any available time" or they will not give you a visit if the time you request is taken or not when that pod books visits on that day.
The visit times filp from Saturday to Sunday so I my case, his shu 4b visits Saturday morings and Sunday afternoons.
Hope you get to see your love soon, enjoy your vist and welcome to Corcoran.

If her man is going to OLD Corcoran she does NOT need an appt. Only SATF does appts. She had said they were getting their visits back so that will be contact.

If he said Corcoran then more than likely old Corcoran, otherwise he probably would've said SATF. Yes, they are right behind each other.

ASU is the Ad Seg unit which is where he is at as they complete an investigation and likely gets a SHU term. SHU is the Secured Housing Unit and that is where they go when they have done something wrong and its their form of "time out". So this means if he does get a SHU term then he gets moved over to the SHU and he stays locked up unless its a yard day and he can go to yard in a cage and they can come out for showers when they are offered. Other than that they are in their cells all day. What this means for visits is 1hr behind glass. I myself am a SHU lady as many others are here since Corcoran is a SHU prison.

CDCR is linked up with the DMV so if you changed your address with the DMV for your ID or DL then it will come up in the system and your ID will not match your application info that is in the CDCR system. They will not allow you to visit if that is the case. I just saw this happen. The young lady had to resubmit an application. You can also attempt to call the visiting sergeant and ask if you can just update your info on a new form at the visiting center prior to your visit.

Yes, he will move again. He is in Ad right now and from there he will move to the SHU. He will likely go to 4A if he is doing 6 months.

Do you know how long it normally takes to move them cauz he was told all this last Friday and he is still in the same cell as of now. I hate having to deal with re-route mail that is why I am asking. I know he is also fighting it if that makes a difference.

It just depends on open space if he has already been given a SHU term. If he is still in Ad Seg and he only says that he might get 6 months then he hasn't been back to ICC to give him his SHU term. Meaning they could still be investigating if he is still fighting it. It doesn't change his time to sit in Ad Seg. If they find him guilty then its still a bit of a wait for an open slab of concrete. It could be as quick as a week or possibly a month. It varies.

In SHU is it about the same as ASU as far as what they get to have? He gets his TV, legal stuff and some food where he is now so will that change?

Yes, they get to have their TV, their legal stuff, state meals, and they can spend up to $55 monthly for store.
