Default Insomnia from adderall?

Has anyone experienced (or know of someone) who has gotten insomnia from adderall?

I'm up ALL night!!! Jeez! I take it early in the morning around 8 or 9, because the doctor said to take it before noon. That's well before noon lol. But I can't sleep now.

Aloha from far away............ Sent from my iPhone using PrisonTalk. Haim shelli.

Since Adderal is amphetimine based, it's almost a certainty that it will affect sleep.
The severity of the effect would depend largely on the dosage and your metabolism... you should talk to your doc about a lower dose or a non-stimulant alternative.

My son used to have this problem with Concerta(same use different med.) and the only thing that could be done was he had to take Trileptal in order to go to sleep every night. He doesn't have to do that anymore but for a long time it would take him all night to go to sleep.

Thanks for the input. I'll just tough it out these next few weeks and hope it gets better like it did for your son.

I too experienced this problem. I am prescribed 60mg of Adderall daily...I know thats alot but it made nursing school seem like a kindergarten class for me. It will not hurt to talk to your doc about prescribing you a dose of Ambien for the p.m. hours. Ambien is good because it does nots make you feel sluggish the next day but it is important to get at least 8 hours of sleep while takiing Ambien
