Default BACKGROUND CHECK - Visitation

My son was in Wrightsville and was released Jan 2011. While he was there I met an inmate and fell in love with him. We had to wait 6 months before I could visit him from the time my son was released. I've now completed and returned the visitation form, however I'm concerned about my background check. I was convicted of a felony in another state when I was 18 yrs old (21 yrs ago). Will this prevent me from being approved? Will this prevent us from being married while he is incarcerated? My fiance is now at Brickeys! Thanks

Yes I was approved for my son, however ADC allows convicted felons to visit immediate family.

I was convicted of a felony in 2000 and had my record sealed in 2005. I was denied visitation when my fiance was in Brickeys due to having a prior conviction and not being immediate family. Hope you have better luck.

Not sure, I still get calls because my phone is in the name of someone who is on his visitation list.

I was first denied visitation but my phone was approved.

I was denied for my HUSBAND, because I have a felony. I can't visit or talk on the phone! Does me being his wife not count as immediate family?

It should. Write a letter to the warden or call him.
