Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

Our brother is an inmate in Chuckawalla valley state prison, he'll be out, God willing by this mid July. He requested a transfer and applied for permission that as soon as he is out, to take a plane and move to NY where we his entire family are. He wants to do his probation here in NY. he did it with time and he has asked the counselor and the person tell my family member that he has no info. The counselor doesnt hardly respond, the date of release is getting so close. We need to purchase the airplane ticket and get him a furnished room till he get on his feet. he has no family at all in ca. No answer yet. We have no idea if the approval will be send in writing to my brother, or is it sent to the counselor? If they deny it, when will we know, does the counselor assist to find him a place. omg especially our mom is so anxious. Can someone give me an idea. I would appreciate it so very much.

I'm very interested in what kind of info you get on this. My brother is due to be released in Sept and has no where to go in Cali. We all moved to Florida. Please post any info that you can share.

180 days prior to his release he can have his counselor start the process. If he can get them to start it while inside he can parole straight to Florida. If they do not start it he will have to Parole to California while waiting for the approval. It can take up 90 days to get approved. If he is on PRCS ( probation) he does not have to pay off his restitution. If he is on Parole, they will not start the paperwork until it is paid off.
