Question *Confused* please help - he's been moved

My husband is.scheduled for release 6/29, Monday he told me they were moving him (From Additional.correctional ) to the local jail in Ulster county. When I didn't hear from him all morning I assumed the move was taking place. I got two calls from him yesterday late.afternoon but both calls dropped and were def not from a county jail. I called this morning when I didn't see an update on his inmate info and they told me he's at the Clinton annex. I'm a little worried that doesn't seem any nearer, and its maximum when he was at medium..... I'm confused, he was specifically told he was being moved locally because his release is right around the corner ....... But Clinton ? I feel worried sick but is this kind if move normal??

The only thing that matters at the end of the day is his release date as long as it is not changed he'll be fine. From personal experience the only ways you usually end up in a max is either because of a lengthy sentence(e.x: 25 to life, 8 to 20, 7 to 15, 99yrs, etc) or being found guilty of a tier 3 ticket. But in your case he's in the annex which is a completely separate part of the jail designated for medium security inmates. In fact I've known some inmates who've asked to get transferred there. Also when someone's about to go home being put on draft is common occurrence. I was in Cape Vincent then got moved to Watertown then Ulster then Queensboro. It's a headache and a nuisance since you don't get access to your personal property(especially hygiene products) until you arrive at the facility you're destined for plus you've only get the one state green outfit you're wearing, all in all it really sucks. But its part of the bid just like being put in the SHU or any of the other crap that goes on in prisons. Good luck to you and him.
