I have a friend in Tucson, AZ who served time 17 years ago. He is now 53 years old, out of work, and having a difficult time finding a job. Does anyone know of any companies who hire ex-felons, or resources I could pass along to him?
The best advice I could give him is to get some kind of specialized training. Like go to a trade school or take a certificate program at a college. I mean you have to look at it like this: They have a felony, and most of them don't have a good work history, so THEY have to bring something a little "extra" to the table, like a degree or certificate.
He can try Junque for Jesus. Also, my husband worked for Greco Painting, Davis Kitchens and Becker Specialties. My husband had been in prison. He is now back in. Also, Pima County One Stop is supposed to be able to help. Those are a few ideas for anyone coming out. Hope it helped

Thank you!
There are opportunities out there, it really depends on how long ago and what type or types of offenses. I know that we place students with criminal backgrounds.
