hi i'm Lovely 56, I have a son doing life &40 years,and the judge did'nt think he should have gotten that much time, but he gave it to him anyway,something is very wrong with the justice system, how can we petition the way there're doing our children,someone please tell me

I am just blown away by the amount of time some of our kids are sentenced to. I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this. Our "justice" system is definitely a mess. I wish I had some wise words to say to make it easier. However, I do want to welcome you to PWCIP. There is a lot of love, encouragement, support and the feeling of "belonging" here. I hope you come back often.

so sorry about your son's sentence - -it is heartbreaking, overwhelming. it is hard to do anything to fight sentencing. I hope that you will join us here as we all struggle to accept this part of our lives. we love our children. we hate what they did. we see value in them, we wish others did too. I hope you have a strong support group . ..we are always here for you.

Welcome to our family....I'm SO VERY VERY SORRY....that is just off the charts....there are many organizations that fight the fight...FAMM.org is a really good one for starts....they are very active in pushing for fair sentencing laws...
I'm thankful that you found your way to PWCIP....we will help support you emotionally on this miserable road you travel....don't ever lose hope...ever! We will get through this by helping each other any way we can....
Stay close....and post often so we can get to know you

i'm holding on by the Grace of GOD. I thank him. if it had not been for the lord on my side i don't no what i'll do. Glory Be To God. And every one that give encouragment,Thank u all and i will keep u all in prayer.

Way to go Lovely!!! You just keep hanging on.....He is hanging on to YOU for sure. He will see you through whatever you go through...and He never lets go....NEVER!!!

I totally understand my son didn't get time like that but he got some years and he went into the adult prison system at 17 years old I'm like you I thought my world was over but I had to be strong for my other children. I thank God everyday for taking care of my baby and keeping him wrapped up in his arms. I know I wouldn't have made it this far if it wasn't for God holding on to me! I am definitely going to keep you and your family in my prayers. God Bless You!

Welcome to the Parents forum here at PTO. I'm so very sorry about the amount of time your son got~ if the judge didn't agree with the time then why in the world did he sentence him to so long?? They system sure isn't right and just. Prayers and Faith have got me through this nightmare as well and will add you and yours to my prayers too. Keep your chin up and know you are not alone in this.

I too am a lovely 56, with a 34 year old son who was sentenced to 8 life sentences or 223 years, whichever comes first. Geesh you would have thought he murdered somebody - NOPE, didn't even hurt anybody. I am sorry you are going through this. I find that it is the most difficult thing in life I have ever encountered. I feel as though I am in prison as well. You must feel the same way. My son is in CA and I am not, so visiting is next to nothing. I am all he has. We can keep in touch if you'd like.
