Hello & welcome to PTO . My love was also sent away when our baby girl was just 2 months old so I know how you must have felt to have daddy taken from your lil one at such a young age. I wish I could tell you this was easy but it's not; the best thing is to keep your self busy & write write write a lot to you hunny. He is gonna need all of your support. Not sure where he will be sent to reception; they are 'usually' (cause it can be different..LOL) sent to Wasco & from there they are sent to a Mainline Prison after they see their counselor (which can take anywhere from 3 months to a year).

Try your county website for info on obtaining a marriage license & hopefully you can marry your love soon

Again welcome to PTO. Feel free to browse thru the CA Forum

Welcome to PTO. Unfortunately I can't help with any of the answers you are after but there's plenty of people here that hopefully will see your post and help you out. Sorry to hear about your situation, hope you find out where he is going soon to make it that little bit 'easier'

Once he is moved wait a couple says and look on the inmate search for the California Dept of Corrections. There you will find his inmate number (totally different from his number with county) and where they sent him. Tell him soon as he gets there send you visitor paperwork.... Also make sure you watch him closely as they have bounced my guy around a lot. I always joke and tell him it's like i'm tracking a packing on UPS lol if i can answer any questions, hit me up

Yes, here's the link to the CA prison forums. I'm sure you will be able to find out more about their rules for getting married too. Good luck.

I got married in county last month on the 19th and he's going to prison within the next 2 weeks. If you go on your countys jail website the info should be on there. I'm from san diego and it had a list of all the minsters/notarys who the jail allowed to do the ceremonys. It costs around $200 and my minister was available as soon as I could make a visit which ended up being the next day. The minister and yu fill out the paperwork then he has a proff. Visit with the inmate to hve him sign his portion. Then when its visit time you have the ceremony. Which for me was thru glass over the phone.. then that's that.. the minister went and filed all the paperwork at the courthouse and 2 weeks later I picked up our marriage certificate. Wala!

Goodluck!
