Default Help-I'm recently released

I have recently been released from prison. Convicted felon twice. I'm 23 and have turned my life around. I am a single mother. Daughter is 4 ys. old and I have recently just found out that I am with my second. I am 5 weeks pregnant. I just moved back home (w/ mom), Indiana. Because I have been convicted of a felony I am not eligible for section 8 housing. Frankly, I think that's ridiculous. I am posting this thread in hopes that someone may have a suggestion or resources that I have not yet discovered. If you have any information, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Welcome to PTO. Congratulations on returning home to your love ones and on your new arrival! Unfortunately, I am unable to answer your question in reference to resources available to ex-felons. I would love to know as well.

Also, don't forget to research the Indiana forum. I guarantee someone WILL come along and answer your questions. May God continue to bless you.

I was recently released after 4 yrs from AZ Doc. I am working but I cannot afford a apartment for my 9 yr. old daughter and myself. We remain seperated because of housing. I am not eligible for HUD because I'm a convicted felon. Please help. I'm at the end of my rope. Oh and I am also on IPS probation.

Start with the PO. I know this is not a favorite thing to do, however they get the latest updates on training etc. Many of the churches have programs, however search for the main source like the Catholic Archdioces. Career counselors at the collesges can also direct you to programs. Congratulations, and good luck with this phase, it is daunting but can be done!
