Question No mail, from my MWI, when do I start to worry?

Hi everyone , i have a lil issue and i'm kinda worried so i guess i could find some advice here on what to do...
I'm in a mwi relationship for almost 4 months now and i usually get a bunch of letter, all at the same time, every two weeks.
But the last time i got news this time was on june the 1st, i replied on the same day and as i'm overseas my letter usually takes 8 or 10 days to get to him.
Same back so that mean i should have gotten a reply around june the 20 (and it usually takes less time), i sent a bunch of letter during june and still on the 2nd of july, no news at all...
Could be because we have a new mailman, or idk...
We never argued about anything, i havent mentionned forbidden things, plus he once said that if ever we'd have issues then he would want to discuss them and not simply break the contact like some do....

I really don't know what to do , i'm worried and sad to see an empty mailbox everyday...
can u think of any other reasons that could have delayed the mail?

Hello katsuki,
I live overseas too and it takes usually three weeks from the day I send my letter to the day I receive his response BUT if the facility or his unit/buildung is on lockdown, then it can take way longer. You could call the prison and ask whether or not they are on lockdown but the information doesn`t necessarily have to be accurate. I was once told that they are not on lockdown but his unit was and I had asked specificially for his building. Also once a letter I send to him got lost he never received it and so he waited for a letter he would never receive and I was waiting for his response until after a few more weeks I decided to ask him what was wrong. Everytime I was worried it turned out that I was worried for no reason. I hope you will get a letter soon and be relieved from your worries.

You have two units listed in your profile so I'm not sure which one you are waiting on mail from. Death row at Polunsky was on lockdown, which delayed the mail, but they're off now as of last week.

Anything is possible with the mail, especially when you are overseas. I would try and be patient and go on about your business, and you will get something before you know it.

Does he have plenty of stamps, envelopes and paper? Keep your chin up.

Peace~

Nope i'm not talking about Polunsky, but Hughes, my boyfriend is in Hughes unit, the guy i write to in Polunsky is just a friend (and i have no delay with him ), i tried to look on the hughes unit forum but it seems that not many people are on there so i can't seem to find an answer...

I have often waited 2 or 3 weeks for a reply to my letters and last year I had to wait over 6 weeks for mail from one of my penpals cos the mail room got backed up.

I hope you hear something soon

If you say that there wasn't an issue then I wouldn't start to worry yet. I definitely have been through this though and I'm sure the majority of us have but don't worry quite yet!!! Just remember you're a ways away and with prison mail there always seems to be something that comes up!! Just keep your head up and try to keep busy!!!

I am not overseas, but 15 hours away from where my love is...and we have issues with the mail every so often...my love writes me EVERY DAY! And I mean every day!!! But I only get a letter 3-5 days a week. Just recently I went 2 whole weeks with out one letter...and that is NOT normal. But I know him and know he's writing...I called and checked his housing so I know he wasn't moved and is ok. One thing we have to remember is that these men are in PRISON...not camp...not saying anyone assumes they are...but so many women freak out when they don't get the phone call when they expected or mail when they expected. So many things can change at any given moment...Have faith and be patient. I wrote my love and told him everyday I didn't hear from him...then one day a letter he wrote me was sent back to him...he freaked! It was addressed properly...so he saved the returned envelope so I can take it to the post office. Not only could it be many things inside the prison...but the post office screws up ALL THE TIME!!! I agree that you should wait to hear from him before assuming the worst and booking it! This is not an easy road and many unexpected interuptions can and will happen...my love and I tell each other all the time, we know it's not us, and we have no control over it! It is frustrating, and sucks! But you have to be strong and be patient!

I hope you get your letters soon. Seems like a long time to do without a reply though. Fingers crossed you will get something today.

Hope for you a letter will arrive soon! Mostly overseas letters need 5-7 days to arrive, but last week I've got two letters on the same day - one was sent at June 25th, the other was sent at June 1st. God knows what they did with my letter during 4 weeks!

It's not him, it's either the prison or the mail system. Keep positive, even with us both being in California it can sometimes take 3 weeks for us to get mail from each other - for no apparent reason.......both him & me think it's just another way of these guys getting "f'd" over by the system. I've also noticed if a relationship is going well, mail goes missing, if bad news is being delivered, it get's there just like it's sent via Fed-Ex...go figure?????

But just like Hiz mentioned, we write about it and know it's not us..........

There are so many factors! Lockdowns, shakedowns, just the mailroom being backed up, maybe your man is under investigation and they're taking forever. It could be so many things.

i was in kind of the same situation! it totally sucked! we had our first visit it went great! and he lives 2 1/2 hours away from me and here in texas it takes mail 3 days to get to a place and we are pretty consistant. the day of our visit he said i'll write you back as soon as i get your letter. we're usually letter out, six days later id recieve a letter back then send another one. (except for sundays... i haaate sundays lol) i didnt get mail for 2 1/2 weeks and i thought he just didnt want to talk to me anymore. not to sound silly, but i cried a bit lol. i was worried as heck, playing over what could of gone wrong, what i did, blah, blah. i was just about to give up and write a "is this the end? just tell me what went wrong" letter when i got home haha. i checked the mail as a last hope & i actually just got a letter in from my mwi! such a relief. turns out he had restrictions (for reasons i dont know but i plan on finding out haha) so he couldnt go to comissary because he had ran out of stamps. i hope you get a letter soon! keep us posted girly!

Oh Katsuki, I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through I'm not going to repeat what the others say, there's a ton of reasons why this is happening. It's happened to me before as well, once cause the mail went missing, and another was cause it was delayed. though not for such a long period. Mine was just a week delay and I nearly went mad (no joke) during that time wondering what was happening. It's worse cause I'm overseas and cannot call him at all to find out what is wrong. So I feel you on this, sweetheart. I do hope you'll get something from your boyfriend soon, keep all of us updated and know that we're here for you. Stay strong, Katsuki!
