Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

Please be aware that, due to difficulties arising from issues with Yahoo and AOL, we have changed our registration requirements.

Default Penpal Newbie on Death Row San Quentin
Dear all,

glad to find that page first of all I want to say HELLO to all of you.

I m a lady from Germany writing, and to be honest, completely unversed in being a penfriend with an inmate on Death Row.

I read lots of Do s and Don t s - but I have the bad feeling, that the truth is not really held update.

Apart of that, that my friend at San Quentin did not write me now for a quite long time, I m afraid that maybe something bad happened or he got trouble etc.

Is it for example possible, to call him???

Welcome to PTO! I'm sorry you haven't heard from your friend lately. Sometimes they get a little down and don't write for a couple of weeks. Or they run out of supplies before commissary. Things happen--not always bad! But yes, sometimes they do get into trouble.
You can't really call him of course. If I had a friend there I'd check on him for you. The waiting is awful! Believe me, we've all beeen through it!

Weclome to pto!!! I can tell you that the mail is running from 3 to 4 weeks behind. You might want to try and send him a post card letting him know that you havent heard from him and that you are checking on him. You cant call him but he can call you depending on his status.
