Default My letter looks like someone tried to eat it

Ive been taking some of your alls advice about not letting my mind go crazy when I dont get mail when I think I should. So I kinda already thought that I should of had mail before today, but I didnt freak out or anything! (working progress) but what pisses me off is that when I did get my letter today it looked like somebody ate it, there was a whole chunk missing out of it, including the envelope. Im sure he didnt send it out like that so Idk what happened. I cant even read it & get a good sense of what he's saying, lol they need to take care of my mail, not destroy it!

I just received an empty envelope......but he is in ASU and sometimes they do stamp letters after they censor it. Guess they didn't seal it back up properly, : ( so disappointed.

That sucks! I would be even more sad if that happened to me atleast I got to read like 4 sentences of mine. I hope you get another letter soon, this is the first time mine has ever been messed up!

If I got a mutilated envelope I would assume it got stuck in the machine at the post office. They use machines to sort the mail by zip code, and sometimes the envelopes get snagged or caught in the machinery. I'm so sorry your letter arrived like that.

^^^ this exactly

The USPS gets worse and worse...I see at least one or two letters a week that have been chewed up in the automated sorting equipment. The truly horrendous ones get put into a separate envelope by the USPS and eventually show up long after they had been mailed...

As with the previous couple of posters, his damaged letter was more than likely caused by the post office and not the prison mailroom.

What gets me is, if we were to send anything even with a speck of shit that might be drugs, they won't accept it, but we can get shit that is all tore up like yours was. On a second note, it probably did not leave the prison in that condition, but still....

Peace~

Where my DH is at (I live in FL), they check ALL incoming & outgoing mail, and pretty much every piece of mail I get has a stamp on the front of it that says "Mailed From A State Correctional Institution". I've never had chunks out of my letters missing, though...
